GROWS for parents

GROWS is a partnership of the six Gloucestershire based universities and colleges.  It is led by the University of Gloucestershire in partnership with:

We are funded by the Office for Students (OfS) to deliver the national Uni Connect programme. Our main aim is to help young people better understand their future educational options and how to make the right choices for them. In collaboration with partners we run a number of events and activities; these focus on different educational pathways to help young people understand more about life and study in further and higher education. We also create different resources such as workbooks and information guides to support them to understand about their choices at 16 and 18.

GROWS also delivers a number of parent-specific events and provides resources to support you in supporting your young person with their educational options. Read our guide for parents.

Our website is full of useful information to help both you and your young person think about where they would like to be in the future, and how to get there. Additionally, it also signposts to other websites that can help them make decisions about where they want to go in life, and how to get there.

A lot of our work and activities are for young people who live in specified target wards. A target ward is an area identified by the OfS as having lower than expected numbers of learners progressing to university level study based on historic GCSE results. Find out more about the targeted outreach work we do.
